For Whom the Poll Tolls

charge

Once more unto the breach, dear friends

Once more the polling booth calls

A chance to exorcise the demon

Who has our country by the balls

Once more unto the breach

Carry forth the battle cry

Reverse Draconian policies

That said our weakest had to die

Stand up, be counted, be seen, be heard

Be part of something more

A movement taking back control

From Murdoch’s grey insectoid whore

We have an opportunity

We cannot let it slip away

We have to rid our country

Of these cunts who darken every day

Society has stumbled

What happens next is key

Whether on our feet and in the race

Or toppled to one knee

Once more unto the breach, dear friends

Each day we see this movement grow

Spreading word from mouth to ear

Making sure the people know

Once more unto the breach

We wont go silently into the night

We will not let the hate prevail

We will not bow to the fascist right

Onwards, upwards, join the ranks

Add your strength to the growing might

Then standing strong and standing tall

We’ll stand our ground and win this fight

Don’t Ask Me

rainfall.jpg

Don’t ask me to explain

Why sometimes

I’d rather walk in the rain

Why words

Can sometimes fail

Or just seem to no avail

Don’t ask me the reason why

Faith as strong as the sky is high

Can be shattered

In a moment

A loosely swaying remnant

Don’t look to me for light

Like some kind of

Altruistic knight

I’m not even close

To gaining best

In my own internal conquest

Don’t ever try to understand

The forces that seem

To guide a hand

We’re a different person every day

Each step we take

Dictates our way

Don’t look for fairness or parity

In a World  built on greed

Not charity

There is no graciously warm relief

Until first you’ve tasted

Bitter grief

Don’t expect to see shame

Reflected in the eyes

Of those you blame

They’ll always find a way to justify

Or give themselves

An alibi

Don’t ask me to explain

Why life today

Just seems steeped in pain

It’s not that I don’t care

It’s just I have no more

Faith to share

We can always dream

A $lodier's Dream HD Desktop Background

We can always dream

No matter where we are in life

We can always dream

It doesn’t matter what you have

It doesn’t matter what you’ve seen

It doesn’t matter who you were

It doesn’t matter where you’ve been

We can always dream

Reach for the moment

Spied in a gleam

Never out of reach

We can always dream

If you can think it

And you can feel it

A path laid out in a single beam

We can always dream

Then if things go foul

Find the cracks and fall between

At least you can say

“It was just a dream”

The point I’m making

Is that the future has no flowers

It’s shoots are still green

Those memories still to show themselves

We can always dream

Walking the dog

black dog

Life smiles sweetly

As it stabs you in the back

And seeks new ways

To throw you off the track

Laughs in your face

As it shrouds you in black

Where the dog cocks an ear

Sniffs the air

Smells your fear

Stalks you through your shadows

Drawing ever more near

Shadows that breathe,

Writhe

And seethe

As you longingly thirst

To drink from the Lethe

Where thoughts revolve

Thoughts devolve

And memories find release

As thoughts dissolve

No need to run

Soporific peace hard won

Bathing in the river

Black dog’s bite undone

A brief respite

Just a pause in the fight

Black dog’s turn

To hide from the light

As you float with the stream

Explore this new dream

While always aware

Things are not as they seem

Anxiety churns

As through the haze

The fire of truth burns

Clouds descend

And black dog returns

A Life in the Day of

linear.jpg

Eyes flutter open, seeing with light afresh

Unveiling visions

Sparkling with early dew

Pure and clean, untainted by the day to come

Crisp, sharp air

Nature’s heady brew

Hitting mid morning with spring-heeled leap

The child has no pride

He’s just along for the ride

Lessons learned and hurdles jumped

That first real feeling

Of battling the tide

The Mid-day sun brings heat and passion’s flame

Playing along with the game

And those first pangs of shame

Chasing memories while the energy is fresh

Marking your territory

And staking your claim

Stealing smiles across the afternoon

As the day peaks

And time inexorably leaks

Accelerating forward

Turning minutes to hours, hours to days

And days into weeks

Then eventide to bask in the glow

Make sense of the day

Take pride in your stock

Remembering the air, the light

The heat of the fight

Looking back to when you walked that walk

As the shadows take over

And the darkness grows

That’s when true nature shows

A legacy of what we shared

As the light fades

And the night forces the day to a close

Harbinger

harbingerofdoom3-htm

I saw you again today
Spouting some shit or other on the news
Hanging society’s ills on everyone but those to blame
From Europe, to Muslims, Arabs and Jews
Spreading your fear
To anyone unwilling to challenge the bullshit you use
Those who seek someone to divert their shame
But never question your unsustainable reactionary views
I saw you again today
I still don’t get why you’re given the airtime to abuse
It’s almost like you’re being played like a piece in a game
And it doesn’t really matter which fascist stands there in your shoes
Telling us who to hate
I can’t be the only one who’s seeing through your ruse
The whole façade crumbling, but the vitriol still the same
Turning communities from vibrant to recluse
I saw you again today
Using your lies to attack and accuse
Fanning the embers you helped to inflame
Goading the angry as violence brews
Pointing your accusing finger
Causing us to feel like the whole country has the blues
All just to make people know your name
The narcissist inside you guarantees we’re born to lose

Keep Dreaming

dreming

I remember a time
When I associated drive
With the shark’s need to keep moving
If it wants to stay alive
And that was what made me strive
I honestly believed
That somehow
This bollocks
Was the formula to thrive
Pick a direction
Go with the flow
Wear all the trappings
Status on show
Swallow your pride
And forget all you know
Be a good mushroom
Stay in the dark
And we MIGHT
Let you grow
But try burning brightly
You’ll be blinded by the glare
Extinguishing the industrious spark
To be replaced
With that thousand yard stare
As it dawns
That there’s been too many dawns
And here you are
Still a spare
No chance of this cat ever getting the cream
Not after a life
Of reaching for the prize
But only ever catching steam
The dream may work out for some
But for others
It’s only ever a dream
Time
The hunted beast
Was mine to kill
To toy with and use
To gorge on ’til I’d had my fill
But time is a stalking horse
And it never really did stand still
